Leading the Way in PVC-U Recycling
Many people instinctively think of timber as the most likely ‘green’ alternative, but look closer and the environmental arguments for PVC-U become compelling.
CO2 is the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming. Using energy rated PVC-U double glazing made from Profile 22 is one of the most effective ways to save energy and reduce your home’s CO2 emissions.
At the most basic level, using PVC-U also saves millions of trees each year (as well as transportation costs, often from overseas). At Profile 22, we produce PVC-U locally and it is light and easy to transport in bulk.
PVC-U is also more durable than wood and can be recycled up to ten times without deteriorating. All Profile 22 PVC-U is manufactured in accordance with BS 12608 and is expected to last in excess of 40 years. Replacement windows made from Profile 22 offer a sustainable future and can be recycled up to ten times, giving them a lifespan of over 400 years, reducing the amount of material going to landfill.
Profile 22 leads the way in the recycling of old PVC-U windows and doors and is currently the only supplier of window and door systems with its own recycling facility based in the UK.
