Windows Energy Ratings explained

With 15% of your home’s heat lost through windows, choosing the right double glazing can save you over £250 a year.

Energy rated windows made from Profile 22 can reduce your heating bills by up to 25% every year and as fuel costs increase, your savings will grow – and they’ll not only save you money, they’ll also help increase the value of your home.

Energy saving windows can carry the Energy Saving Recommended logo and are assessed by several UK certifying bodies: Certass, Fensa and BSI, using internationally recognised A-G certification.

Current Building Regulations for all types of window installation require  a minimum Band ‘C’ rating, which can be thermally increased to Band ‘A’ – the most energy-efficient product – where no heat loss occurs.

Landlords and tenants also need to be aware that legislation introduced in 1st October 2008 required landlords to provide new tenants with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) to demonstrate the energy efficiency of the
property’s windows.

Few things will make a greater difference to the warmth, security and look of your home. Ask your installer about installing Profile 22 high-performance, energy saving windows  or click here to find out how much you could save on your home’s energy bills.
